Playathon is a non-competitive fundraising event open to serious musicians of any age and instrument, teachers, students and professional musicians. The Playathon is sponsored by the Music Teachers Association of California, San Diego Branch. The first Playathon took place in 2011 and was called Bachathon but in its second year the name was changed to Playathon.
Students and adults are invited to prepare and perform repertoire for performance recitals.
Teachers appreciate being able to give their students a place to try out their pieces before the spring events take place, and the students who look forward to auditioning for the Goodlin Scholarships Competition are assured of the continued availability of the funds.
